Snowfall will again try to keep Butler County residents from their normal schedules today, Feb. 10, after Tuesday’s winter storm closed schools, businesses and municipal offices.

The area’s second significant snowfall in just over three days added 6 inches to 8 inches of snow to last weekend’s accumulation.

All Butler County school districts issued a two-hour delay Tuesday night for school today as the latest storm kept road crews busy throughout Tuesday to get the streets ready for people to go back to work and school.

Road crew officials in Middletown, Hamilton, Fairfield and Trenton and said crews anticipate today’s morning commute would be easier than the previous day.

“The primary roads are in pretty good shape at this time (Tuesday night) and we’re working on the secondary roads now,” said Robert Sutton, streets supervisor for the city of Hamilton.

A break in the snow helped crews clear streets for rush hour traffic, but as the snow resumed Tuesday evening, snow again blanketed the streets.

Trenton City Manager John Jones said it’s been tough for road crews to keep up.

“Our guys have been out for hours and they’ve done a good job,” he said. “We just need people to be patient and realize we have to clear the main arteries first before we can do anything else.”
