HAMILTON — A Hamilton man is in Butler County Jail after allegedly stabbing a man after he wouldn’t give up his wallet.
Around 3:30 a.m. Thursday, police responded to 130 Village St. after a man reported he had been stabbed. Police found Timothy Sparks, 36, of the residence with multiple stab wounds.
Around 5:30 a.m., police charged Charles M. Hubbard, 41, of Henry Street in Hamilton with second-degree felonies of felonious assault and robbery.
Sparks told police he had given Hubbard a ride in his car when the man put a knife to his throat and demanded his wallet in the area of Sycamore Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
When Sparks did not comply, he told police he was stabbed multiple times. Sparks was treated at Fort Hamilton Hospital for his injuries.
Hubbard remains in Butler County Jail on $200,000 bond. A preliminary hearing in the case is set for Feb. 10 in Hamilton Municipal Court.
According to court records, Hubbard has about 40 prior charges ranging from theft, receiving stolen property, breaking and entering and disorderly conduct.
