HAMILTON — Dozens of individuals, businesses and organizations will be honored for their generosity in local communities.

The third biennial Butler County National Philanthropy Day lunch is noon to 1:30 p.m. today, Nov. 13, at the Courtyard by Marriott in Hamilton. Emcee is John Lomax of WKRC-TV Local 12 and the guest speaker will be O’dell Owens, Hamilton County coroner.

Six Butler County community foundations will honor 20 nonprofit organizations and 75 individuals at the event, said Kelli Kurtz, vice president of development with the Hamilton Community Foundation.

Melissa Benedict, vice president of donor services with the Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty, is compiling all the groups and people who will be honored. She said all of the community foundations have been working together to organize the lunch.

“Donors, families, businesses and organizations will be honored for their philanthropic efforts and dedication to their communities,” Benedict said.

Among those being honored by their respective community foundations include Ralph and Sara Carruthers in Hamilton; local sponsors of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in Middletown; John and Carol Prazynski in Fairfield; and Mildred Cotter and Winifred Pearson in Oxford.

The event is sponsored by Duke Energy, First Financial Bank, Miami University Hamilton and Cox Ohio Publishing, as well as Atrium Medical Center/Premier Health Partners and US Bank.
