LEBANON — Rides today at Warren County Fair won’t start until later in the afternoon, as increasingly oppressive heat slows foot traffic.

Instead of a noon start, the rides won’t start until 4 p.m., said to Tari Maddox, Warren County Fair Board secretary.

As a result, the price for a ride bracelet today will be reduced from $18 to $15, she said.

The reduction of hours was not the result of any incident, Maddox said.

“There’s just no one here,” she said Wednesday evening. “Our parking lot’s half full. There’s no one coming in right now.”

Maddox said hours for junior fair competitions would remain unchanged.

“Our main goal here is to promote agriculture and we still have all our livestock shows going on,” she said.
