The Greater Cincinnati Home Builders Association is scheduled to hold its 48th annual Homearama home show three months later than usual, in a new location and with decidedly less costly options.

This year’s event is scheduled to take place from Sept. 12 to Sept. 27 at the Carmelle development in Mason, located off the Kings Mills exit of Interstate 71.

“One of the major selling points of building and buying in Carmelle is that it’s in the city of Mason, which has an excellent reputation for not just their school system, but just the community as a whole,” said Dan Dressman, the association’s executive director.

On display will be furnished and landscaped homes by Drees Co., Fischer Homes, John Henry Homes, K Homes, Summit Custom Home Builders and High Pointe Custom Homes. The homes range in price from $500,000 to $900,000.

“In this show, for the first time ever, every one of the bedrooms in the participating homes is going to have a ‘decorating for $2,500’ theme to show people what they can do with $2,500 a bedroom,” Dressman said.

The two-week event also will feature hands-on demonstrations and, for the first time, more than 20 different seminars on a slew of topics including do-it-yourself landscaping, cooking, patio pavers and color trims.

The event costs $9 per adult. Discount tickets available at all area Kroger locations for $7. Children 12 and younger will be admitted free of charge if accompanied by an adult.

Show times are 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. each weekday and noon to 10 p.m. on the weekends.
