Two hundred associates are being sought to help staff a new Home Depot Regional Distribution Center that will be located on Gateway Boulevard off Ohio 63 and Interstate 75 in Monroe.
The home improvement retailer is presently seeking to hire 200 full-time, general warehouse and office positions for the 657,500-square-foot center. It will open later this summer at Corridor 75 Park in Warren County to help improve service and increase efficiency for about 150 stores in the Ohio Valley area, said Jen King, a spokeswoman for Home Depot.
“This new state of the art facility is part of a larger program to improve our supply chain, making it easier for our stores to keep the right products in stock when our customers need them,” she said.
“The Rapid Deployment Center is a fast-flowing facility, where goods come in via large loads from our suppliers and are quickly sorted and distributed to the various stores in the area, in the precise quantities each store needs.”
The company is currently interviewing candidates for the jobs that will pay above minimum wage. Interested applicants should apply by June 20, she said.
Applicants may apply online or by using the career kiosk in any Home Depot store location.
“We’re hiring 200 to start and we will add approximately a couple hundred more over the next several years,” King said.
The company offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical and dental insurance, 401k and “success sharing” bonuses for full-and part-time associates, she said.
The Home Depot is the world’s largest home improvement specialty retailer with more than 2,200 stores in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, 10 Canadian provinces, Mexico and China. In fiscal 2008, the company had sales of $71.3 billion and earnings from continuing operations of $2.3 billion. The company employs more than 300,000 associates.
