There is one question that is critical to all Middletown teachers and students, particularly the middle and high schools:

Will the candidate support Chief Sauter's efforts to end the unruly student chaos in our schools, and hold accountable all administrators who have enabled such conduct?

To restore safety, and learning, in our schools, the new superintendent must adopt Chief Sauter's common sense agenda.

Dear Middletown,

Do yourself a favor and do not hire Dr. Bickert. Beavercreek was a BETTER district to be rid of him...Middletown can do better.

Hoolio -- I would guess that there are state requirements that an interim needs to be in place, and the credential requirements are likely similar to those for the permanent superintendent, which few (if any) people in the administration building currently possess. Given that, the logical choice would be Dianne Suiter, as she is currently in the district, and then an interim principal could be put in her place at Central. Not to mention that she would likely do a very good job!

VietVet -- well said.
Concerned -- you bring up a good point about Ms. McNeil and conflict of interest. My experience is that it's her way or the highway in terms of how she treats people/programs when she feels she hasn't "won". I'm hoping that the other board members won't bow down to her "I've been here longer and am on lots of boards" approach -- longevity does not make one wiser in this situation!

Brown and Wilson are retread retirees trying to double dip. Better talk to the school systems to get their opinion on job performance and to the parents in these systems to get the public's opinion.Take time to check articles written about them to gauge performance. Look at the school performance under their leadership. Investigate whether there's some excess baggage with these people. Don't continue to bring in people like Price and others who turned out to be poor selections.

I watched this meeting on TV Middletown last night and have a couple of questions.

Katie McNeil has close ties to the Ohio School Board Association and is really pushing for them. Isn't there a conflict of interest thing here?

Don't we need the best search firm, not the cheapest? We need to find the best person for the job. We can't afford another mistake.
