FRANKLIN, Warren County — An early morning fire destroyed a long-standing building in Franklin this morning, Friday, Oct. 2.
Fire was reported at 4:55 a.m. at Cook’s Game Room, 6227 Hamilton-Middletown Road, across from Wood Hill Cemetery, according to Franklin fire officials.
“The building was idle,” said Capt. Stu Dixon of the Franklin Fire Department. “There was no power to the building.”
Franklin Twp. Fire Chief Steve Bishop, who lives near the building, reported the fire, noting it was fully involved when he called dispatchers, Dixon said. Crews from Franklin and Clearcreek Twp. assisted with fighting the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Dixon said he has yet to speak with building owners. According to the Warren County Auditor’s Office web site, the building, built in 1933, is owned by Michael L. Myers & LEDFO.
