HAMILTON — A fall tradition for children to celebrate the season will continue this weekend at Al Couch Farm Market.

The 25th annual Fall Festival Costume and Pumpkin Contest is scheduled to happen from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday inside the greenhouse at the store, 2115 Hamilton-Eaton Road (a quarter-mile north of New Miami on U.S. 127.

Owner Gary Couch said every child will receive a bag of treats, which are items donated by the market’s vendors.

“This is our 75th year in business,” Couch said. “It’s all about the kids. It’s about having a good time and the community.”

The event features costume contests and visitors are encouraged to bring their carved or painted pumpkins to enter into the competition.

Eligible ages range from newborn to 12 years. Costume judging begins at 1:30 p.m. Categories are Scariest, Cutest, Funniest and Most Original. Children can compete according to their age groups: 1 to 4, 5 to 8 and 9 to 12. Infants who are zero to 11 months can compete in the “Funniest” costume category. Parents who wear a costume could win a prize as well.

A grand prize drawing for a bicycle will occur after costume judging, and the winner must be present and in costume.

Preregistration is encouraged by Thursday. For more information, call (513) 844-2400.
