I grew up with both of these boys (Brandon and Chad). They were great kids from a great family and I am SO proud of Brandon for not ever giving up and being so strong. Marsha, Mitch or Brandon, if you read this, just know that I am SO excited to read of this. The church dedicating the building to Chad is wonderful. I love you guys! Keep going strong and don't ever give up....

In this case this family attended church on a regular basis ,the death of his brother did not cause Brandon to turn to God, He already had a relationship with him. This family has shown all of us at community Harvest what it truly is to trust the Lord in such difficult times. I'm glad Brandon has excepted the call God has placed on his life, and I am proud to have my kids attend this youth group .

kickinitgemstyle,
It is your freedom to speak your thoughts, American Soldiers died so you could have that freedom. I don't want to cram "religion" down your throught, just offer this challange. Try Jesus see what a diferance He can make in your life. See, if I'm wrong then no big deal, But if your wrong you will wish you listened. Check out Comunity Harvest Church as mentioned in this article or any church that preaches the Bible should be interesting.

Death always scares people into religion. I feel horrible for Brandon that he accidently killed his brother, but that's no excuse to fill your head with lies and then dedicate you life to spreading the false words of Christianity. Sorry to rain on the parade, but there are 100's of religions in the world which all claim to be absolute truth.

Well, I guess there's always going to be those out there that see EVERYTING in life in a negative sort of way... I don't care what anyone has done in life as long as they make right with the LORD, and are earnest about it.

This is a beautiful article. It's wonderful news that someone can turn their sorrow and pain into something positive and goodness. Kudos to the reporter who wrote it and kudos to the Journal for printing this. In times like these, it is uplifting to read some good news for a change. It's such a shame that some here can be so small that they have to write such trash. More stories like this please.

GOD GIVES US ALL free will to choose

If we make bad choices; well that is our fault but if we ask the LORD to lead us and listen and believe we will stand upon the rock of GOD !
bad things are in this world and the Devil gave us this. Pray for protection every day and read the bible; it has lasted forever!!!!GOD is a loving Father and he wants us to have a good life

Jesus is the truth to the world!!!!

Wisdom....AMEN! Only those that have knowledge of what GOD CAN and WILL do...have the understanding..it is ALL about a RELATIONSHIP with Jesus the Christ! The ONE AND ONLY CHRIST! I lost two brothers 19 months apart, then my dad a year later...I was bitter for years..then I found God, then my oldest brother had cancer...wow...what a difference it made going through it WITH GOD, than without..IT IS A GODTHING

kickinit - when I read your post this verse came to my mind:

1 Corinthians 2:14:
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Not all religions are lame. Buddhism is a wonderful way of life. Christianity is full of problems but don't use it to blast all religion in the world.

Religion is so lame, lies upon lies, the Jesus lie is the biggest of them all. Whenever something bad happens it's the devil, if it's something good, it's the "lord." Grow up people. Leave story-time behind and enter the real world.
