DAYTON — The Rev. Cecelia A.K. Sledge, senior pastor and administrator of RiverPoint Ministries United Methodist Church in Toledo, has been named manager of pastoral services at The Children’s Medical Center of Dayton.

Sledge, who has been a pastor for 13 years, graduated from United Theological Seminary in Dayton and completed her clinical pastoral education at Kettering Memorial Hospital.

She was associate pastor for Belmont United Methodist Church in Dayton, and a chaplain intern and on-call chaplain for Dayton Children’s from 1997-2004. It was her positive experiences at the hospital, she said, that convinced her to take the new job which offers counseling, intervention, spiritual and emotional support to patients, families and staff of all faiths.

“I love walking that faith journey with folks, being invited into the most intimate part of their lives,” said Sedge.

Sedge replaces the Rev. Bobbie Predmore, who held the position for 34 years and worked with Sedge over the years.

“She’s a quiet person who soaks up everything, she has a gentle spirit and a comforting aura,” said Predmore. “She is extremely bright, open minded and open hearted.”

Sledge, 51, assumed her role Monday, July 6, and resides in Beavercreek.
