There are plenty of incentives for buying a home, and a new program for Ohio college graduates will make the plan to purchase even more lucrative.
In addition to the $8,000 federal tax credit available to first-time home buyers until Nov. 30, the Ohio Housing Finance Agency this morning announced the Grants for Grads program, which gives borrowers 2.5 percent of the home’s purchase price to help with down payment and closing costs. Buyers must have graduated from an Ohio high school and received a college degree of any level within 18 months of the purchase to receive the funds.
We are looking for college students, upcoming graduates, or graduates who are considering buying a home for an upcoming article. Will you take advantage of the program? Will this new incentive push you into the market?
