FAIRFIELD TWP. — An up-and-coming boy band will play a free concert to give “justice” to their dream of signing with a record label.
New Hollow, comprised of Evan West, 16, Mick Clouse, 16, and Chad Blashford, 15, will play from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at Justice at Bridgewater Falls Lifestyle Shopping Center.
“They plan on performing one of their singles when they first get here,” said Justice store sales leader Julie Smith. “Then they will sign autographs, and if they have time for another song, they’ll perform. It just depends on how busy and crowded we are.”
Justice, a clothing store for girls and pre-teens, has been exclusively selling New Hollow’s singles, Smith said. The stores have sold two of the band’s singles, “Boyfriend” and “Sick.” The band, which formed in 2009 when the three teen musicians lived on the same street in New Albany, Ohio, describe their music as “a fresh new twist to a classic rock sound,” according to their website, www.newhollow.com.
Smith said the girls’ clothing store has been selling the singles to help promote the band and help the teens land a deal with a record label. Until the band signs a deal, Smith said the store’s employees are happy to help.
“Most of our girls (employees) were like, ‘schedule us to work,’” she said. Of the managers and three or four scheduled to work on Sunday, Smith said they were all “pretty excited.”
