CORWIN — Three people, including a father and daughter, were flown to a Dayton hospital after a bicycle collided with an ATV on the Little Miami Bike Trail.

The crash happened just before 10 p.m. Saturday, May 23, on the bike trail near the intersection with New Burlington Road in the Corwin area of Warren County just south of Waynesville, WKRC-TV Local12 reported.

A father and daughter were on the all-terrain vehicle that collided with the bike. All three people involved in the accident were flown by medical helicopter to Dayton’s Miami Valley Hospital.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, which is investigating the incident, did not release the names of those involved.

The nature of the injuries were not clear, but the victims are expected to survive, Local12 reported.

Anyone know of a real newspaper that might print a follow up. I would like to know the conditions of the victims and were any citations issued.

To Dan,

1. The accident did happen on the bike path.
2. Don't know?
3. The ATV driver had been drinking.
4. Both drivers had lights on and the bicyclist had a back flashing light and an orange reflective triangle also on the back of his bike.

4 questions if anyone knows the answers...

1) Did the accident happen in an intersection of a road and the bike path?
2) For what infraction was the bicyclist issued a ticket? (Keep in mind, a ticket is not an admission of guilt. It can be overturned in court).
3) Was alcohol involved? Both the cyclist and ATV?
4) Did the bicyclist have working headlights/tailights?

Mike G? I truly hope that your comment about not praying and your lack of concern for the bicyclist was a typo or, that you didn’t really mean it. Although I'm not an extremely religious person, I do know between right and wrong. If you really are a God fearing/praying kind of man, that kind of comment will likely get you in an express lane. And I don’t mean to heaven…

A bicycle in Ohio (and almost every state) is a vehicle and legally shares the rules of the road just like an automobile or motorcycle. A bicycle is defined as a vehicle and thus is governed by a uniform set of rules common to all vehicles and a small set of specific rules for bicycles. So suggesting to only riding on the path in day time and not on roads is an odd comment. Educate yourselves…http://www.ohiobike.org/bicycle-law...
