HAMILTON — Prosecutors want a 17-year-old tried as an adult after he was arrested last week in connection with a home invasion and sexual assault of a woman inside her Middletown home.
Middletown police last week charged the teen with aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and obstruction of official business in the Oct. 10 incident.
Two Middletown 19-year-olds — Jad Holmes, of the 600 block of Lafayette Avenue, and Cory M. Isreal, of the 700 block of 15th Avenue — are each facing charges of rape, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and two counts of kidnapping.
Holmes and Isreal are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday, Dec. 3, in Butler County Common Pleas Court. They are both housed in the county jail on bonds of $500,000 each.
The 17-year-old is housed in the county juvenile detention center and is scheduled to appear in juvenile court Dec. 9.
“We will seek a bind over (to adult court),” said Butler County Prosecutor Robin Piper, who called the incident a “crime of terror and violence.”
Detectives said Holmes, Isreal and the 17-year-old forced their way into an Arlington Avenue residence on Oct. 10 and assaulted the resident at gunpoint.
The woman who reported the incident told police the trio forced their way inside and assaulted her, taking her cell phone, $10, DVDs and a camera, according to police.
