Liberty Twp. Trustees took the final step Tuesday, June 16, to what they say will create a positive impact on attracting new businesses and residents to the Butler County community.
A three-month process that focused on developing a stronger brand was the culmination of work done in 2006, when a citizen-driven steering committee recommended the township make itself more appealing for future growth.
As a result, a new brand — featuring a flame, roadway or path, the township’s name and the phrase Embraced by Nature. Inspired by Progress” — was unveiled Tuesday night. The new logo replaces the white and blue circle that now features the Statue of Liberty.
In March, trustees approved a $5,760 contract with West Chester Twp.-based Margo Jacob Design, a consulting firm that took feedback from surveys, the community’s comprehensive plan and forums, and turn the information into the township’s new logo.
In her presentation Tuesday, Jacob said the key messages the logo embodies are meant specifically for families, young couples, empty nesters, “outdoor actives” and businesses.
Jacob said the flame represents “an emerging and progressive community,” while the roadway or path represents the township’s accessibility, its location and its progressive and connected style.
The unveiling of the new logo also comes at an opportune time for the community — with the construction under way on the Liberty Interchange off Interstate 75 — and the name change of Hamilton-Mason Road between Butler-Warren and Cincinanti-Dayton roads to Liberty Way.
“The future of Liberty right now is in the Liberty Interchange,” said Trustee Christine Matacic. “And I think that, again, with the business people, working with them on how we can market and create a balanced community in Liberty Twp., it’s very, very important. This is just one of the pieces of the puzzle, and it’s just a great addition.”
The new logo will be first seen on signs that will be erected at the intersections of Ohio 129 and Ohio 747 and Ohio 129 and Cincinnati-Dayton Road.
After that, the township should have the new brand featured on its Web site, letterhead, newsletter and on additional signage by the end of the summer.
