Some Warren County communities have reported hail up to 2 inches in size tonight, June 2, according to the National Weather Service.
There were no reports of damage, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, and the NWS said despite some accounts there was no tornado in the area.
A quick, hard 10-minute rainshower hit Springboro with wind gusts of 58 mph, NWS Meterologist Don Hughes said.
“It was gone before you could even think about what to say,” said Jenny Embleton, a Springboro police dispatcher.
She said no one reported damage, though she wouldn’t doubt there actually was damage.
According to Hughes, Maineville saw hail as large as an inch around, Franklin received hail about one and three-quarters of an inch in size, and 2-inch hail balls were spotted just south of Springboro.
There were numerous reports of lightning striking the ground in Warren County, according to police scanner traffic.
