John Waite, a solo artist and member of the British band The Babys, will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, July, 19, at Fraze Pavilion in Kettering, according to an announcement made today.

Tickets cost $5 for general admission and $40 for a reserved seat in the first three rows of Plaza Section B (limited availability), which includes a backstage “meet and greet” with Waite.

Tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the new Fraze FanFare store in Town & Country Shopping Center, located at 300 E. Stroop Road. They also can be purchased online at www.etix.com or by phone at 1 (800) 514-3849.

Waite started out as part of The Babys, whose hits include “Isn’t It Time?” and “Every Time I Think Of You…”

In 1984, his solo song “Missing You” topped the international charts. In the late 1980s, Waite continued to release solo albums and then returned to the top of the charts with two albums as the front man for the pop/rock group Bad English, whose hits include “When I See You Smile.” Waite continues to release music as a solo artist, including 2010′s album “In Real Time.”
