Cincinnati museum to bring traveling program to Fitton

By Hayley Day

No need to lie about your age at this event. The Cincinnati Art Museum brings its “museum on wheels” program to Hamilton when it presents “Beauty Has No Age” at the Fitton Center for Creative Arts on Jan. 9.

As part of the Cincinnati Art Museum’s Speaker Bureau program, a trained docent will give give a presentation and answer questions about the pieces of art. Participants can view slides of artwork by older adults and artworks about age and aging.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and a lunch buffet by Hamilton’s Coach House Catering will be served. Pianist Treva Boardman will perform specially selected music before the presentation, which officially starts at noon.

“I choose music based on the theme of the luncheon, like classical music, such as Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky, for this,” said Boardman, of Oxford, who performs at many Fitton Center for Creative Arts events.

The event is part of an eight-part Celebrating Self luncheon series, which started in October, and is presented by Ohio Magazine and Fort Hamilton Hospital, part of Kettering Health Network.
