OXFORD TWP. — A teenager crashed his vehicle Sunday afternoon, Oct. 25, while reading a text message, said Oxford Twp. police Chief Michael Goins.

Two 17-year-old males from West College Corner, Indiana, were transported to McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital with minor injuries after striking a utility pole in the 7700 block of Contreras Road at about 4:30 p.m., Goins said.

The juveniles were traveling east on Contreras Road when they went off the right side of the road and the driver overcorrected, sending the vehicle off the left side of the road and into a utility pole, breaking it in half, Goins said.

The driver was cited for operating without reasonable control, Goins said.
