MIDDLETOWN — Police have arrested a 27-year-old man who is alleged to have robbed Reed’s Center Carry-Out Friday night.
James Hocz, of the 3000 block of Sheffield St., was arrested at 1:03 p.m. Sunday in the 3200 block of Omaha Street without incident. He is accused of robbing the carry-out at 1520 Oxford State Road at knife-point around 7:30 p.m. Friday, said Middletown police Lt. Scott Reeve.
After the robbery, police said he fled with the scene with $600. Hocz had an arraignment Monday on suspicion of aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Feb. 6. Bond had been set at $100,000.
Reeve said Hocz is believed to be the same person who robbed the Marathon gas station on Dixie Highway in Franklin Twp., Reeve said.
On Jan. 16, a man fitting Hocz’s description robbed the gas station and was last seen near Sheffield Street, according to Reeve.
Hocz is being held in Middletown’s jail. As of Monday morning, Reeve said no warrant had been issued for Hocz from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
