MADISON TWP. — A Middletown woman is in the Butler County Jail after fleeing the scene of an early morning crash Tuesday.

Around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, Butler County sheriff’s deputies responded to the 4700 block of Trenton-Franklin Road after a driver reportedly lost control in a curve and struck a pole, said Sgt. Monte Mayer.

Mayer said Ricky A. Cook, 29, of Trenton was driving in a 2003 Dodge Stratus and was ejected after the vehicle landed on its side in the front yard of a home. He is being treated at Atrium Medical Center.

Passenger Kristina B. Grimbleby, 25, of Middletown allegedly fled the scene on foot and was found shortly after by deputies. Grimbleby was treated and released from Atrium Medical Center before being arrested on a contempt of court warrant out of Hamilton Municipal Court, Mayer said.

Mayer said the crash is being investigated by the sheriff’s office and deputies have not ruled out alcohol, drugs or speed as factors.
