A Warren County grand jury has indicted a Franklin man accused of robbing a person at knifepoint along a bicycle trail.
Seth Prater, 23, is charged with aggravated robbery for allegedly taking between $12 and $18 at knifepoint from a man walking on the trail at 1:17 a.m. April 29 near Cranes Run Park about 150 feet south of the Montgomery-Warren county line.
Prater was in the Warren County Jail on a May 11 breaking and entering incident when he was charged in the park incident. He was indicted Friday, June 26, according to a grand jury report released earlier this week.
Prater also was indicted on charges of tampering with evidence, breaking and entering — both felonies — and tampering with a coin machine, a first-degree misdemeanor, along with his alleged accomplice, April Thirtyacre of Choctaw Circle. She was indicted by a grand jury June 26 on charges of breaking and entering, tampering with coin machines, tampering with evidence, theft, receiving stolen property — all felonies — and misuse of credit cards, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Franklin Detective Jeff Stewart said Prater and Thirtyacre broke into a vehicle at Cranes Run Park and stole a credit card they later used to buy a navigation system and gas at Walmart.
The same day, the duo allegedly broke into a locked office at Laynecrest Laundromat, 56 Millard Drive, then stole keys and tampered with the coin machine to take money, according to police.
“These two were on a mini-spree, it appears,” said Stewart.
Stewart said Thirtyacre, 30, was with Prater when the robbery took place, but police do not believe she participated in the crime.
Prater remained in Warren County Jail as of Monday, June 29.
Thirtyacre is out on bond.
