MADISON TWP. — A former church pastor has been arrested for allegedly inappropriately touching an underage female, according to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
Hence Hamblin Jr., 66, of the 5100 block of Augspurger Avenue in New Miami, was charged Wednesday, Sept. 9, with one count of gross sexual imposition, a fourth-degree felony, after allegedly admitting to detectives he had inappropriately touched a teenage girl, according to the sheriff’s office.
Hamblin resigned in August as pastor of the West Middletown Church of God in Madison Twp. He stated he resigned in light of the incident, deputies said.
No one at the church could be reached for comment Friday.
Hamblin was booked into the Butler County Jail and later was released after posting $5,000 bond.
He is scheduled to appear at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, for a preliminary hearing in Hamilton Municipal Court.
