From Middletown police reports

Sept. 5

A 39-year-old woman was arrested on assault charges after allegedly fighting with two women at Walmart. According to police, Yovonda Render was in line at a checkout at Walmart, 2900 Towne Blvd., when she apparently bumped into Paula Simmons, 49, and Shani Simmons, 23, who were in line in front of her. A verbal altercation ensued, after which Render allegedly followed the Simmonses to the cart area and continued the argument, eventually striking Shani Simmons in the face, according to police. Police said Shani Simmons’ mouth was bleeding when they arrived. Render was charged with assault and transported to the Middletown City Jail.

Officers were dispatched to the police department’s K-9 Training Facility at 1908 Germantown Road on the report of a subject attempting to break in the back door. Upon arrival, officers said they located a subject covering himself with a trash can behind the Schneider’s Lawn Care business next door. The subject had removed all of his clothing except his black shorts. According to the police report, the subject, identified as Jeremy Paul Brown, 27, had a strong odor of alcohol on his person and had glassy eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet. Police said he also had several abrasions on his back, elbows and knees. Brown told officers he was not trying to break into the K-9 facility but was staying there because he is homeless. He gave no explanation for his injuries. Brown was arrested for disorderly conduct with intoxication and transported to the Middletown City Jail.
