MEET THE CANDIDATES Seventeen candidates in the June 14 primary election for U.S. House 2nd District are seeking to succeed the GOP’s Rob Portman, who resigned after he was confirmed by the Senate as President George Bush new U.S. trade representative. All of the candidates participated in a forum sponsored by the Area Progress Council of Warren County Tuesday, June 7 at Lebanon Junior High School The Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce and The Western Star and Pulse-Journal were co-sponsors. Rob Portman. The Family First PAC is backing two. Rather than endorsing Jean Schmidt, president of the Greater Cincinnati Right to Life, Warren County Right to Life President Lori Viars has thrown her support behind former congressman Bob McEwen. |
