The Greater Cincinnati-Dayton Region of the American Red Cross today announced Patricia Mann Smitson as its new chief executive.
Currently a partner in law firm Thompson Hine, Smitson will oversee the 36-county Red Cross region that encompasses southwestern Ohio, northern Kentucky and southeastern Indiana. She will assume her new role on May 21.
Smitson was the first woman to serve as partner-in-charge of Thompson Hine’s Cincinnati office and is a past Red Cross board member.
She succeeds Sara Peller, who retired in January after 14 years.
The Cincinnati Red Cross merged with the Dayton region’s six chapters in 2011.
