WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — The Air Force has awarded a $20 million contract to an Oklahoma company for aviation support services, and a $7.9 million contract to a Cincinnati paving contractor to rebuild one of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base’s two major runways.

The Aeronautical Systems Center at Wright-Patterson awarded the aviation support contract to CNI Aviation LLC, of Oklahoma City. It is among a group of companies owned by the Chickasaw Indian Nation that serves the Air Force, Federal Aviation Administration and Transportation Security Administration.

CNI Aviation is to provide goods and services including materials, manufacturing, research and development, prototyping, quality assurance, aircraft modification and test support for aircraft programs.

Paving contractor John R. Jurgensen Co., of Cincinnati, was awarded the contract for reconstruction and paving of runway 23R, the largest of Wright-Patterson’s two main base runways. Work on the 12,600-foot runway is to begin in April 2012 and be completed in September 2012, the Defense Department said.
