Online want ads climb

By Randy Tucker

Staff Writer

The number of online help-wanted ads in Ohio grew by 7,900 last month to about 197,000, according to the latest tally from The Conference Board released Monday.

Nationwide, online advertised vacancies rose 232,000 in June to 4,947,100, and online labor demand has grown by an average of 104,000 per month since the beginning of the year, the nonprofit business research group reported. Most of the job openings were in professional categories, such as business and finance, healthcare professionals, and management. There were about 2.7 unemployed workers for every vacancy.
