Most job openings in health care, retail, trucking

Staff Report

Job seekers in the Dayton and Springfield region area most likely to find opportunities in health care, retail and trucking, based on analysis of online help wanted advertisements posted from March to April.

Kettering Health Network posted 431 job advertisements over the month. That was the most by a single employer in the 12-county area from March 14 to April 13, according to the latest monthly report released Friday by Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Kettering Health has posted more hiring announcements online each month than any other single local employer since the state started keeping track Oct. 2011.

Staples was second locally, with 206 online job advertisements in the same time period and Community Mercy Health Partners was third with 125.

By occupation, the job with the most advertised openings in the region from March to April was for truck drivers with 762 jobs posted. A retail salesperson was the occupation with the second most job openings of 545, followed by registered nurses at 517.

The analysis of OhioMeansJobs.com is compiled by The Conference Board, a global nonprofit research group. OhioMeansJobs.com is website operated by Ohio Job and Family Services in partnership with Monster that collects job advertisements posted online.
