Sales of single-family homes and condominiums in the Dayton area climbed nearly 16 percent last month when compared with March 2011, and 36 percent from February, the Dayton Area Board of Realtors said Thursday.

The organization said 932 homes and condos were sold in March, compared with 805 in March 2011.

Total sales volume for March exceeded $107 million, nearly 41 percent higher than the $76.2 million reported in March 2011. The average sale price per unit came in at $114,930 in March, a 21.4 percent appreciation over last March’s $94,652, and the median price landed at $92,900, a 31.7 percent jump compared to $70,550 last March, the organization said.

Listings submitted for March fell 11 percent to 2,119 from March 2011.
