LEBANON — A local antiques store is closing after two years of business.

The Golden Clam Antique Store, located at 3 S. Broadway at the intersection of Broadway and Mulberry Street, is closing, and its owner will be selling the building, owner Gerald Miller.

Miller, who is 75, said he was closing the store for personal reasons.

“I’ve been into antiques my whole life and I just need a break from the business end of things.”

Miller, who sold the Lebanon Antiques Mall in 2002, said he will continue his interior design business, which he operates in California and will remain in the area. As a graduate of the University of Cincinnati’s architecture and interior design department, Miller has also made a career as an interior decorator. He’s spent 34 years in California, designing homes of the rich and famous, with a clientele that includes Ann Margaret and Kathy Hilton.

“I’m looking forward to relaxing and taking vacations,” Miller said. “I was just burned out on the store.”

Miller has sold the building to William and Mary Kaufman, who are looking to rent it to a new business.

“We plan on leasing it and we’re in talks with several people,” William Kaufman, an attorney, said. “We are open and looking for clients.”

Miller is selling off the remainder of his inventory and expects to be out of the building by next week, he said.
