Kroger contract ratified by union, says company

Staff Report

MONROE — Kroger Co. employees have ratified a new labor agreement, the company said today, Aug. 13.

Leaders of United Food & Commercial Workers Local 75 in Monroe could not be reached for comment.

The agreement covers more than 4,000 employees who work in 30 stores in and around Dayton.

“This agreement provides good, stable jobs for our associates, increases take-home pay, and provides high-quality, affordable health care. At the same time, it enables our company to remain competitive in a difficult economy with intense competition,” Geoff Covert, president of Kroger’s Cincinnati/Dayton division, said in a statement from the company.

Kroger has more than 326,000 employees in 2,475 supermarkets and department stores in 31 states.
