The Edison Materials Technology Center will host a short course about alternative energy technologies in the shale gas era on May 24 at the Engineers Club of Dayton.
Jack Brouwer, an energy expert from the National Fuel Cell Research Center at the University of California Irvine, will present the program. His topics will include the shale gas-related energy conversion technologies; alternatives adversely affected by shale gas; and the potential economic and environmental impacts of shale gas use.
Several companies also are expected make technology presentations.
The program is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $100 for students; $125 for EMTEC or Engineers Club members; and $150 for non-members. For registration or more information, visit www.emtec.org.
