Companies’ new lease agreements projected to bring 20 new jobs to Mason

Signing of two leases brings current Mason Municipal Center business suite location to full capacity.

Staff Report

MASON — Lease agreements signed by two companies are projected to add a total of 13 full-time staff by the end of this year and more than 20 in the city by the end of 2013.

mDynamik, a biohealth industry business, and Storeflix, a digital IT company, committed to leasing 2,000 square feet of space in Mason Municipal Center.

The two companies joined the growing list of organizations making their headquarters in Mason.

“Part of our economic development success has been identifying and supporting small entrepreneurial start-ups with excellent potential,” said Mason Mayor David Nichols. “We are excited to continue the momentum and collaboration with mDynamik and StoreFlix as they continue growing and bringing high-tech jobs to Mason.”

The mDynamik agreement will allow them to begin start-up operations, while the StoreFlix agreement is an extension of their original lease, signed in November 2010.

Leasing space in the city’s municipal center is a creative way officials are using existing assets to leverage investment and job creation of high-growth technology companies in the city, according to city officials.

“We believe successfully locating companies like StoreFlix and mDynamik here has a multiplier effect on the city’s ability to accomplish other economic strategies, including attracting a critical mass of more entrepreneur start-ups and greater workforce availability in science and technology fields,” said Michele Blair, the city’s economic development director.

Founded in Mason in 2008, StoreFlix is focused on reinventing social media tools for corporations to improve communication and execution. The company has developed a worldwide patent pending technology that allows managers to see and analyze their operations around the world.

StoreFlix serves Fortune 500 corporations in a variety of industries, including consumer packaged goods, consumer products, consumer goods, retailers, franchises, the service industry, manufacturing and the government sector.

“We truly appreciate the city of Mason and their continued support during our start up stage of development,” said Phil Storage, StoreFlix CEO and founder. “We look forward to creating many new jobs and opportunities for the city and to calling Mason home for many years to come.”

mDynamik leverages mobile and social technologies to improve health. The company is in development of their core consumer product offering due to be launched mid-summer 2012. Through these mobile applications, mDynamik is working to bring hospitals, providers and patients together with expected benefits from an engaging experience to support healthy behaviors.

“mDynamik is very excited to be working with the city of Mason,” said co-founder Jeremy Shubert. “It’s a perfect partnership where Mason wants to help us grow and succeed and in turn we want to help Mason continue to be the thriving community it is today.”

Since the first 12-month lease with StoreFlix, the city attracted AssureRx to the Mason Community Center and eMerge to the Mason campus. eMerge represents yet another biohealth startup company specializing in gastroenterology solutions and adds to the Mason compliment of biohealth companies.

Both AssureRx and eMerge are part of the CincyTech portfolio of regional growth companies. StoreFlix has grown its customer base and technology advancement to the point that they are pursuing the next steps in funding for company growth.

The current Mason Municipal Center Business Suite location is now at full capacity with eMerge occupying 900 square feet in the same wing and employing four full-time employees as part of the CincyTech partnership initiative focused on attracting innovative startup companies to Mason.

A 12-month lease for the combined lease agreements with both StoreFlix and mDynamik is anticipated to generate $15,000 in direct revenues for the city in addition to the benefit of leveraged innovation and tech company start-up momentum and collaboration.
