Bon-Ton touts Goodwill sale results

Staff Report

Bon-Ton, the parent company of Elder-Beerman department stores, said Monday it collected nearly three million pounds of clothing and textiles during its most recent Goodwill sale.

The donations have an estimated value of $17 million. Goodwill Industries International will sell the donated clothing and the like in its stores, and the revenue will fund job-training programs and community services, the company said.

The semi-annual sale took place March 7-22 at 272 Bon-Ton stores in the Northwest, Midwest, and Upper Great Plains.
