Middletown parade location was incorrect

Thursday, July 03, 2008

The starting location for Middletown's 4th of July parade was listed incorrectly in Thursday's Journal.

The parade will line up at 8:45 a.m. Friday, July 4 on Verity Parkway between Lafayette Avenue and 14th Avenue. The parade begins from there at 10 a.m. and heads to Smith Park.

The parades travels north on Verity Parkway to Tytus Avenue to Smith Park.

Parade entrants must enter off Lafayette Avenue, said Deb Morrison, event organizer.

After the parade, the Young American Youth Amateur Sport will play host to a festival with rides and games at Smith Park. The festival is scheduled to run from 2 to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Admission is free, but there will be a small fee for food and rides.
