Local man charged in fatal shooting in Columbus

COLUMBUS — A Middletown man is facing a murder charge in a fatal shooting in Columbus.
Angelo Skipper, 22, was arrested Tuesday, May 13, in connection with the shooting death of Rufus Walls, 47, according to WBNS, a Columbus television station.

Skipper is being held in the Franklin County Jail on one count of murder, according to jail personnel. He has a history of run-ins with the Middletown police, according to reports.
Skipper was sentenced to six months behind bars in 2005 in Butler County after pleading guilty to attempted possession of cocaine, records show. He received five years probation that same year for a receiving stolen property conviction.
