MIDDLETOWN — "Oh, God please help me ... Please help me. He's going to kill me."
Those are the screams police heard before kicking in the door of an apartment early Sunday, May 11, in the 1500 block of Bonita Drive.

Inside they found a woman who'd been held captive for hours, beaten severely and sexually assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, said Middletown police Lt. Rodney Muterspaw.
The assault could have continued if it was not for a neighbor who called police about 4:40 a.m., Muterspaw said.
"Her neighbor heard her screaming and calling for help," he said.
Kenneth Young, 48, of Baltimore Street, was found inside the living room of the apartment wearing only his pants, according to police.
He was charged with felony domestic violence and felonious assault, but more charges are pending, Muterspaw said.
"It will be some kind of sexual assault (charge)," he said.
Police found the woman in bed with her right eye swollen shut, "extreme" swelling to her head and face, cuts and abrasions on her arms, and bruises on her neck, according to the police report.
She said the attack began the prior day when Young allegedly entered her apartment and "had his way with her," according to the police report.
She eventually was able to leave, but later returned to the apartment after Young had left. She barricaded herself in, but Young crawled up her balcony about 3:30 a.m. and entered the apartment from the back door.
He forced her to undress, ripped off her underclothes and forced her to have sex with him, the woman told police, according to the report.
She tried to escape, but Young dragged her by her neck 30 feet back to the bedroom, she said. At one point, she screamed to use the restroom but Young wouldn't allow it and she wound up wetting the bed, she said.
The woman declined medical treatment because she was embarrassed, according to the police report.
Young was arraigned Monday in Middletown Municipal Court and is being held in the city jail in lieu of a $250,000 bond while police consult with Prosecutor Doug Adkins about additional charges, Muterspaw said.
