Franklin board to discuss finance and committee reports

FRANKLIN — Finance issues and board committee reports will be the focus of discussion at tonight's Franklin board of education work session.

The board is expected to hear a presentation and discuss on how tax abatements and tax increment financing works, as well as how it would impact the district.

Extras

A discussion on a board policy regarding offsetting budget recommendations is also planned for tonight's meeting.

The board will also discuss procedural issues for the new standing board committees on curriculum, facilities, technology and finance/audit committees. Each of the committee chairs will provide an update report for the board.

An executive session is also planned to discuss pending negotiations.

The board will meet at 6 p.m. at the Hampton Bennett Building's SOITA annex, 150 E. Sixth.
