Freshman forward Taylor Fultz has made an immediate impact with the Bluffton University women’s soccer team.
The Preble Shawnee High School graduate has a team-high six of the Beavers’ 14 goals. Bluffton (4-1-1, 1-0 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference) will host Capital at 4 p.m. today.
• Senior midfielder Britney Beck (Monroe) has started every game and notched one assist for Wilmington (3-4-2, 1-0 Ohio Athletic Conference).
Football
Freshman running back Joey Robertson (Fenwick) and freshman defensive back Mike Tepe (Springboro) have helped Mount St. Joseph get off to a 3-0 start (2-0 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference).
Robertson has eight rushes for 36 yards and a touchdown while returning two kickoffs for 82 yards. Tepe has two solo tackles and one forced fumble.
• Junior defensive lineman Jason Hutchins (Springboro) has one tackle and five assists for Capital (2-1, 2-0 OAC).
• Senior defensive tackle Ryan Routhier (Lebanon) has six tackles, three assists and one forced fumble for Urbana (2-2).
• Wittenberg is 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, aided by sophomore offensive guard Adam Klever (Moeller) of Lebanon and junior defensive back Chris Stone (Springboro).
Klever has started every game on the offensive line. Stone has notched one interception coming off the bench.
