Staff Report

OXFORD — The Miami University men’s basketball team found out Monday afternoon who its BracketBuster opponent will be and, perhaps more importantly, where the game will be played.

The RedHawks will take on Tennessee State at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at Millett Hall, where they are undefeated in BracketBuster action since the series began in 2004.

TSU is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference, and the Tigers have won three games in a row to improve to 13-10. Miami is 5-14 and has lost seven of its last eight.

This will be the first meeting between the schools, although the RedHawks will be facing an OVC squad in the BracketBuster for the second time in three years. Miami beat Southeast Missouri State 69-53 in the 2010 game in Oxford.

The RedHawks are 4-0 in the BracketBuster games at Millett, but just 1-4 on the road, including a 70-69 loss at James Madison last year.

Tennessee State is led by 6-foot-9 junior forward Robert Covington, who averages 17.7 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Sophomore guard Patrick Miller averages 11.8 points and 3.6 assists per game while also leading the team in steals with 33.

The RedHawks will try to snap a four-game losing streak when they return to action Wednesday night at home against Eastern Michigan.
