MIDDLETOWN — Brock Bolen is about to realize his dream.
The Valley View High School graduate, who spent the first 14 weeks of his rookie NFL season on the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad, was promoted to the active roster on Monday, Dec. 14.
“It feels amazing,” Bolen said Monday evening. “I’ve been dreaming about this moment since third grade.”
Bolen said the team’s general manager called him on Sunday to inform him of the move. He was unsure of what his role will be when the Jags host undefeated Indianapolis on Thursday night.
“It’s a huge game for us,” Bolen said. “We’ve got to win this one to keep our playoff hopes alive.
“You always go into a game a little nervous,” he continued. “But once you make that first hit, it gets pretty easy and you settle down.”
Bolen was a three-year letterman at the University of Louisville after transferring from Illinois in 2005. He finished with 1,321 rushing yards on 271 carries with 16 touchdowns.
