BOYS SOCCER

WEST CARROLLTON 3, MIDDLETOWN 0: The Middies fell to 2-3 in a game played on Wednesday, Sept. 8.

GIRLS SOCCER

MIDDLETOWN 3, WEST CARROLLTON 0: Two goals were scored by Hannah Roof and one by Jaynee Calhoun for the Middies (3-1-1) in a contest played on Wednesday, Sept. 8. Michelle Brownlee and Brianna Lipscomb had the assists. Goalkeeper Katie Noble recorded 11 saves for the shutout.

ROSS 3, EDGEWOOD 1: Allie Higgins, Megan Strickland and Taylor Ahrens scored for the Rams (4-2, 2-0 Fort Ancient Valley Conference), who rallied from a 1-0 deficit in the second half on Wednesday. Bree Williams scored for the Cougars (4-1, 1-1 FAVC) and Brooke Haynes had the assist. The contest was scoreless at halftime.

PREBLE SHAWNEE 1, MADISON 1: Taylor Fultz scored for the Arrows on an assist from MacKenzie Steele on Wednesday, and Abbie Lunch recorded 12 saves at goal. Allison Bundy scored for the Mohawks with an assist from Tyler Owens. Shawnee stands 5-0-1 and Madison is 3-0-1.

FENWICK 7, PURCELL MARIAN 0: Megan Cottongim scored two goals for the Falcons and Jacklin Mercer, Emily Ross, Katie Downing, Jess Wolski and Amy Gilmore each had one. Fenwick improved to 2-1-1.

EDGEWOOD 1, VALLEY VIEW 0: Maddie Slusher scored off an assist from Miranda Wright to lift the Cougars past the Spartans on Tuesday night, Sept. 7. EHS improved to 4-0-0 and Valley View fell to 2-3-1.

BOYS GOLF

EDGEWOOD 188, PREBLE SHAWNEE 237: Edgewood’s Cody Marcum and Cameron Williams each shot 46 to share medalist honors as the Cougars defeated Preble Shawnee on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at Weatherwax Golf Course. Matt Deaton shot 48 to lead the Arrows.

GIRLS GOLF

WAYNESVILLE 216, FENWICK 229: Rosamaria DiCristoforo led the Falcons with a 52 but finished one stroke behind Waynesville’s Cory Nichols for medalist honors during a match Wednesday, Sept. 8 match at Holly Hills Golf Course. Other Fenwick scores were turned in by Sarah Newsad (55), Lizzy Barrord (58) and Gaby DiCristoforo (59).

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

HARRISON 3, EDGEWOOD 0: Harrison won 25-14, 26-24, 26-24 in a match played on Tuesday, Sept. 7. Leading players for the Cougars (3-5 overall, 1-2 in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference) were Erin Sharp, six blocks, and Kathryn Voel and Amanda Hobbs, strong serving.

FAIRFIELD 3, MONROE 0: The Indians defeated the Hornets 25-13, 25-16, 25-10 on Wednesday, Sept. 8. Fairfield improved to 1-1. Monroe slipped to 2-4.

MIDDLETOWN 3, WINTON WOODS 0: The Middies won 25-13, 25-12, 25-10 on Wednesday behind the play of sophomore Alex Wright, 15 service points, six aces and 19 assists; senior co-captain Ashley Sauter, seven kills on seven attempts; senior co-captain Eboni Holbrook, seven kills, three aces and nine service points; and junior Bronte Woodlan, three kills and four aces.

CROSS COUNTRY

DAVIS LEADS MONROE GIRLS: Courtney Davis placed seventh with a time of 23 minutes, 4 seconds on Wednesday, Sept. 8, at the Fairborn XC Invitational. She was followed by teammates Krysten Flick, 38th in 25:51; Hannah Robertson, 87th in 30:10; and Sarah Chasteen, 89th in 30:13. The Monroe boys were led by Doug Flick, 39th in 19:47.30; Cody Neace, 81st in 21:07.50; and Logan Meyer, 83rd in 21:09.90.
