GERMANTOWN — Brad Miller kicked a 29-yard field goal with four seconds remaining to push host Valley View to a 9-7 Southwestern Buckeye League Southwestern Division win over Franklin on Friday night, Oct. 9 at Barker Field.
The win brought the two teams back to even in the league standings, each with a record of 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the division.
Dylan Salyers put the Wildcats on the board first by catching a 17-yard touchdown pass from Ben Sizemore in the second quarter.
Brandon Fox scored for the Spartans in the third period on a 16-yard run, but the point-after try failed, leaving Valley View down by one point.
Franklin will host Eaton and Valley View will host Carlisle next Friday.
Monroe 48, Preble Shawnee 0
MONROE — Devin King had another big night as the Hornets remain undefeated in the Southwestern Buckeye League Buckeye Division.
King had 27 carries for 143 yards and three touchdowns in leading Monroe to a 48-0 win at home.
Stephen Kelly also had a pair of 5-yard touchdown runs for the Hornets (6-1, 3-0 SWBL Buckeye), who will travel to Dixie, while the Arrows (3-4, 1-3 SWBL Buckeye) travel to Madison next Friday.
Springboro 47, Miamisburg 0
MIAMISBURG — Antoin Campbell and Taylor Franz each rushed for 118 yards to lead the Panthers to a road win on Friday night, Oct. 9 at Miamisburg.
Franz had three rushing touchdowns. Campbell had one rushing score, as well as a 65-yard kick return for a touchdown.
Springboro (6-1, 1-1 Greater Western Ohio Conference South Division) travels to Xenia next Friday.
Troy 14, Lebanon 7
TROY — Trey Bonny scored first for Lebanon on a 70-yard run in the first quarter, but Chris Basil added a pair of touchdown runs in the second half to lead Troy to the Greater Western Ohio Conference crossover victory on Friday night, Oct. 9.
The Warriors (5-2, 1-1 GWOC South) will host Fairborn next Friday.
Middletown Christian 52, Horizon Science Academy 0
CINCINNATI — Middletown Christian improved to 3-4 on the season with its win on Friday night, Oct. 9.
