Middies' Peters signs with Grand Valley State

MIDDLETOWN — Middletown High School senior Tony Peters made a commitment to continue his education and basketball career at the collegiate level Tuesday, May 5.

Peters signed his national letter of intent to play basketball for Grand Valley State University, a Division II school located in Allendale, Mich., that competes in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Peters averaged 11.1 points per game for the Middies this past season. He also was named to the Greater Miami Conference first team and was a Division I Southwest District honorable mention player.

Peters chose Grand Valley State over other D-II schools Northwest Missouri State, Ashland and Findlay.

Middletown’s Bill Edwards Jr., a senior forward, is expected to make his college decision today.
