Staff Report Updated 6:52 AM Wednesday, November 11, 2009

Norm Grevey Jr., a magnificent shooter on the basketball court, and Di Princell, whose presence on a softball diamond often resulted in championships, will be two of the newest members of the Butler County Sports Hall of Fame.

Grevey and Princell will join nine other inductees in ceremonies to be held Nov. 29 at The Courtyard by Marriott in Hamilton.

The other inductees will be Dick Ballard, Tony Bradley, Ken Cohen, Paul Fernandez, Pat Kreke, Marianne Morris, Travis Myers, Dominic Scrimizzi and Tyrice Walker.

Grevey (Hamilton High School Class of 1986), the youngest of the talented Grevey brothers, all sons of the legendary Norm Grevey Sr., averaged more than 25 points as a junior and more than 29 as a senior before a knee injury ended his season.

He was named to the All-Ohio Division I second team in 1985 and ranks third on Hamilton’s all-time scoring list with 1,162 points.

Grevey continued his career at the University of Dayton, where he still holds the school record for career 3-point percentage (.432) and was a two-time winner of the John L. MacBeth Scholar Athlete award.

Princell (Talawanda High School Class of 1965) earned 10 varsity letters in field hockey, basketball, volleyball and track, but it was on the softball field where she earned most of her accolades.

Princell was a member of the ASA Ohio state championship team in 1968, the state runners-up in 1969 and the USSSA World Champions in 1976, when she was voted to the All-American first team.

Princell also was an ASA second-team All-American in 1990 and an all-state first-team player in 1968. She also has won honors in racquetball, running and golf.

Tickets for the 28th annual induction dinner are $25 and can be purchased in Hamilton at Clark’s Sporting Goods and Tom’s Cigar Store and in Middletown from Stefano’s Italian Cafe.

A general reception will begin at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 6 and the induction program at 7.

Kreke? When's the last time he won more than 4 games in a season?
