FRANKLIN — Franklin High School’s boys basketball team moved to 18-0 Friday night with a 63-35 win over visiting Oakwood.
Luke Kennard scored 17 points to pace the Wildcats (11-0 Southwestern Buckeye League Southwestern Division). Jacob Rossi added 12 points and Justin Rossi 11 for Franklin.
Grant Pepper scored a game-high 20 to lead the Lumberjacks.
The Wildcats travel to Dayton Carroll on Tuesday night, then wrap up the regular season next Friday at home against Monroe.
Monroe 39, Bellbrook 28: Chris Sloneker notched a double-double to led the Hornets past the Golden Eagles in SWBL Southwestern play.
Sloneker finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds for Monroe (5-14, 4-7).
Bellbrook was led by Doug Rasch (13 points).
Valley View 74, Brookville 61: Junior guard Zack Denny poured in 37 points to lead the Spartans to the SWBL Southwestern victory.
Andrew Zellner added 13 points for Valley View (13-6, 7-4).
Brookville (2-16) was led by Luke Landis (22 points) and Tyler Tincher (21).
The Spartans travel to Oakwood next Friday.
Winton Woods 77, Edgewood 45: Visiting Winton Woods (15-3, 11-1 FAVC West) outscored Edgewood (1-17, 1-11) 41-13 in the first half.
The Cougars’ Mason Back led all scorers with 17. Edgewood plays at Northwest on Tuesday.
Fairborn 69, Springboro 62: Kendrick Williams scored 39 points as the Skyhawks handed Springboro, the top-ranked Division I team in the Dayton area, its first loss in league play.
“I can’t even describe this,” Williams said. “I’m so excited. This is for all my teammates who aren’t even on the team anymore.”
Jordan Michael added 14 points for Fairborn and A.J. Wagner 12.
Maverick Morgan led the Panthers (14-4) with 26 points. Ryan Murray added 19 and also hit five 3-pointers.
