Hundreds of thousands of votes were cast as the battle for MiddletownJournal.com Player of the Year online went right down to the wire.
Valley View's Brandon Fox and Carlisle's Nick McGill combined for more than 440,000 votes, with Fox finally coming out on top with 222,267 votes.
Fox totaled close to 600 all-purpose yards and had a successful stint at QB because of injury. McGill, who collected 220,539 votes, rushed for 1,109 yards and 12 TDs in 2009.
All candidates for Player of the Year won Player of the Week honors during the 2009 high school football season.
