Gina’s Thunderbirds on to nationals
Several members of the Gina’s Thunderbirds track team will compete in the AAU Junior Olympic Nationals Aug. 1-8 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Chris Milton advanced in the 100-, 200- and 400-yard dash events in the boys Primary division in last weekend’s regional meet in Dayton.
Milton will be joined at nationals by a pair of 400 relay teams. The team of Deangelo Alexander, Tyrece Colson, Diondre Cooper and Nicholas Howard advanced in the Bantam division, while Vincent Calhoun, Dalaquan Calhoun, E.J. Colson and Devonte Faulkner moved on in the Midget division.
In the girls Midget division, Gina’s 400 relay team of Jamela Wilson, Cheyenne Wright, Azailia Tillis and Delle Wingfield advanced.

Edwards headed to nationals
Eethan Edwards of Middletown has qualified for the AAU Junior Olympic Track and Field Nationals Aug. 1-8 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Edwards, who runs unattached, advanced to nationals in three events — 100- and 200-yard dash and long jump — in the Midget division.
Edwards won the long jump, finished second in the 200 and third in the 100 at last weekend’s regional meet in Dayton.

Lady Cougars win two tourney titles
The Lil Lady Cougars, a girls 8U all-star softball team from Trenton, has won two tournament championships this summer.
The Cougars recently captured the Carlisle Ponytail All-Star Tournament. Previously, the team won the July 4th Summer Blast in Springboro.
Team members are: Natalie Watkins, Sarah Schiavone, Shelby Halsey, Carty Smith, Lauren Marcum, Alexis Adkins, Alaina McQueen, Jessica Dingledine, Makala Maynard and Alyssa Smith. Coaches are Wade Adkins, Rick Watson, Jeff Halsey and Brian Maynard.
